Yogurt is a healthy food to have and with the variety of flavors available you can experiment with all kinds of new recipes. Most yogurt makers come with an assortment of add ons such as honey, nuts, fruit, and even chocolate. With a plain yogurt maker you can add just about anything you wish. Here are some ideas for what to make with plain yogurt.
Babies – Whether it’s for breakfast, a snack or at dinner time, this is one of the best foods for those tiny little ones. Just add some in their cereal or juice or oatmeal. Honey has that wonderful sweet hint that soothes and sweetens the deal. Vanilla on the other hand can be used to add a hint of tartness or sweetness depending on what you like.
Cakes – There are several recipes out there for you to try. Some mix in sour cream and some add in marzipan. For the latter use, the sweet stuff to add more layers to the cake. It makes the filling even more rich. For sour cream, I like to add a layer of this and a layer of that then freeze it and scrape it into the cake.
Drinks – Yogurt may seem like plain yogurt but there are many fun flavors you can add to it. Add in flavors like fruit, nuts, cinnamon, or anything else you may think of. You may not think of an apple, but it is a delicious fruit topping to any drink you can think of. You can add it to smoothies, yogurt, ice cream, and just about anything else you can think of. It is a fun addition to the fridge and an enjoyable treat for yourself.
There are so many great reasons to add plain yogurt to your diet. This can also be used as a special treat. Just a little at a time will add that special something to your meals and snacks. You can never have too much plain yogurt.
